The thread through my work

There’s usually
a better way.

Sometimes it’s a clearer conversation. Sometimes it’s a better routine. And sometimes it means building something that didn’t exist before.

I’ve spent my career close to the work: leading shifts, coaching managers and using the systems that keep restaurants running. Now I’m looking to bring that customer-side experience to customer success, onboarding and implementation in hospitality and workforce technology.

How I work

Adoption

Introduce a better tool. Follow up until managers use it without being asked.

Training

Make learning practical enough to use on a live shift.

Data

Turn the week’s numbers into a clear story and a next action.

People

Coach to a clear standard that holds without me on the floor.

Selected work

Small changes.
A wider impact.

Two problems. Two practical solutions.
Follow what I changed and why.

01 / Performance

The numbers were there.
The clear picture wasn’t.

Weekly reporting tool · Excel

10–12restaurants using the reporting tool

01 / Before

The report needed to work for two people.

A GM needs to enter the week’s numbers quickly. An Ops Manager needs a clear view of performance. The useful report is the one that serves both.

02 / What I changed

One view. A clearer next step.

I built an Excel tool bringing sales, labour, GP less labour, variance and guest feedback into one view: quick weekly input for GMs and a one-page performance view for the Ops Manager.

Beyond a single week

A history page lets both compare weeks side by side to spot trends and patterns over time.

03 / Impact

Built in one restaurant.
Now used across 10–12.

Other GMs’ feedback shaped v2. It is now with the ops team and CEO for possible company-wide rollout.

Adoption shapes the next version

The people using the tool helped decide how it should improve.

Next: developing people
02 / People development

A good shift shouldn’t
depend on who trained you.

Shift Manager training tracker

45 → 4pages, plus a 1-page glossary

01 / Before

45 pages to work through.
A shift still to run.

The starting point was a 45-page Shift Manager workbook. I wanted a shorter, practical structure for developing managers alongside the work itself.

02 / What I changed

Make progress easier to see.

I rebuilt the workbook as a 4-page tick-box tracker, supported by a 1-page glossary.

The design decision

Give coaching a shared structure that busy managers can use on shift.

03 / Impact

A shorter tool.
Room for people to grow.

Used to develop 3 Shift Managers and 1 Assistant Manager at Honest Burgers.

What matters

The tracker supports the conversation: what someone can do, and what to work on next.

Next: the experience behind it

Experience

Built from
the floor up.

From team member to Senior General Manager, with acting Area Manager cover for ten restaurants along the way.

Looking ahead

Still close to the work.
Ready for a wider canvas.

I know the working day your customers are trying to improve. I’d like to bring that perspective to a customer success, onboarding or implementation team—helping hospitality businesses make their software part of everyday work.
